The course to Nirvana
In Buddhism the man who dies goes to meet nirvana, a place where everyone can satisfy every wish. The house where a dead person spends overnight is called a "happy home". Those who die of violent death must buried near their home, in anticipation of post-embarrassment, because nirvana can only come in from anyone who has died out under normal conditions. For those who have been abnormally dead the ceremonies are very much short and everything ends within twenty-four hours, contrary to what happens in the funeral of a dead man under normal conditions. His body is guarded seven days and seven nights, while a constant procession from relatives, friends and Buddhist monks addressed to the family his late congratulations because a family member was so lucky to leave for the nirvana. The funeral in Laos is a celebration and not a sad ceremony. Then the stack is placed in a bamboo coffin and is transported to a small house, which in the meantime built friends of the deceased, in a corner of his field and changing into a place of pilgrimage relatives and friends. On the eve of incineration, a feast arrives to a degree of exacerbation, because it is also common to drink a great drink, tobacco and opium. The only sign of mourning is the presence of the widow and her the children of the dead, who have shaved their heads. |
