This nomadic tribe has about 75,000 members residing in areas between Lake Turkana and the Evaso Ngiro River. They grow cattle, cattle and sheep and goats and live from their animal products. Their main food is milk, mixed with blood that they take by artificially bleeding from their cow's throats. The first in the hierarchy of race are elders who, among other privileges, have priority in the choice of married women. Women usually marry very young, 15 or 16-year-olds, unlike men who do not have the right to marry before they get older. Young people are circumcised in teenage age and at the same time they are part of the warrior class. Five years later mature warriors are killed and six years later they get the right to marry. In the meantime, it is customary to maintain relationships with new breeds that have already been married to older and often helpless men ... On their eve of marriage the new ones make a closure and the next day they leave for their husband's home while the older relatives spit and sprinkle them with milk to bless them.
